The 3rd

Pro Tips
The third hole at Lewes Golf Club, a par 4, demands a precise tee shot. While the marker pole provides a reliable line, straying to the left is preferable to a miss to the right. The approach shot requires accuracy, as the green's upturned saucer shape and flanking run-offs punish any deviation. If your ball ends up beyond the flag, exercise extreme caution with your putt, as the slope will likely result in a very fast, and potentially treacherous, roll.

The Rises
As you stand on the 3rd tee look behind you. In the distance you can see The Rises which are small hills standing in the river valley. The Cluniac monks from the Priory of St. Pancras kept rabbits on the most southerly Rise as the river regularly flooded the area and stopped the rabbits from straying.
