Annual Captain’s Charity Day Raises £4,300 for Children’s Chronic Arthritis Association
Last weekend, Lewes Golf Club played host to Club Captain James Stewart’s annual Captain’s Charity Day, bringing together 88 golfers for an unforgettable day of team golf high up on the South Downs.
Blessed with clear blue skies and fantastic conditions, players enjoyed a highly competitive yet warm and social atmosphere throughout the event.
On the course, competition was fierce, but congratulations go to Lee Johnson, Max Johnson, Josh Beal, and Johnny Wood, who took top honors with the best score of the day.
Off the tee, players were treated to fantastic hospitality at the halfway house. Mary “Berry” kept everyone fuelled with her famous homemade sausage rolls, complemented by Clare’s delicious cakes and cold refreshments.
Supporting a Worthy Cause
While the golf was top quality, the main focus of the day was supporting the Children’s Chronic Arthritis Association (CCAA)—Club Captain James Stewart’s chosen charity for the year. Thanks to the generosity of members, guests, and local supporters, the day raised an outstanding £4,300 for the organisation.
Reflecting on the success of the day, Club Captain James Stewart commented:
“I am absolutely thrilled by the support shown to me and, more importantly, my chosen charity. The total amount raised is fantastic, and I really can’t thank the members, our sponsors, and everyone who donated prizes enough for their incredible generosity.”
Special Thanks
Lewes Golf Club would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the event sponsors, individuals, and local businesses who donated raffle and auction prizes, as well as the volunteers who gave up their time to ensure the event ran smoothly.
