The 11th

Pro Tips
The eleventh hole at Lewes Golf Club, a par 4, rewards a long drive with an increasingly generous fairway. For your approach shot, aim for the left side of the green, as the natural slope will guide your ball onto the putting surface. It's advisable to err on the side of caution and land your second shot short of the green, given its shallow depth of only fifteen paces; overshooting the green can result in a frustratingly long recovery.

Mount Harry
Looking from the back of the 11th tee you can see in the distance Mount Harry. On the slopes of which Henry III, assisted by the fiery Prince Edward, fought a contingent of the Barons during the Battle of Lewes in 1264.The Barons were led by Simon de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester and ultimately triumphed.
