The 12th

Pro Tips
The 12th at Lewes Golf Club presents a stunning downhill par 3, the longest of the course's short holes, featuring a notably narrow green. Accuracy is paramount, as a miss left results in the ball running severely downhill, leaving a difficult recovery chip from the surrounding terrain. The ideal line is just inside the right-hand grass bunker, allowing the natural contours of the green to guide the ball towards the hole.

Ashcombe Windmill
Looking out from the back of the 12th green you can see the reconstructed Ashcombe Windmill on Kingston Hill. The original six sweep Post Mill was built in 1828 but was destroyed in a gale in 1906. Luckily some original parts were recovered and there were photographs and drawings so the new windmill looks almost identical to the original. It was completed in 2015 and the private owner hopes to live on site eventually.
