Pro Tips

The 1st at Lewes is a par 4 that demands a strategic approach. From the tee, aim towards the right-hand 150-yard marker to counteract the fairway's leftward slope. For your second shot, remember the green plays longer than the measured distance. Target the right half of the green; shots landing short or left risk being swept away, leaving a challenging recovery.

Did You Know?

Standing on the 1st tee, looking over to Lewes town, on your left, you get a fabulous view of the castle. Lewes castle was built by the Normans soon after their conquest of England in 1066. It is of a motte and bailey construction and is famously one of only two remaining English castles to have a double motte, the other being Lincoln. (A motte being a raised earthwork).
