A MESSAGE FROM THE CAPTAIN - PAUL GILES
Visiting Lewes Golf Club for the first time takes you on a magical mystery tour - up a single lane with passing places, past picturesque houses reminiscent of a trip to Cornwall, and then up and up to the top of the chalk cliffs - to arrive to spectacular views over the South Downs and the historic town of Lewes with its Norman castle standing proud.
And that is just the start. The golf course which was first played in 1896 offers rewarding golf to players of all abilities. The head greenkeeper and his staff ensure that the course and greens are maintained to the highest standard throughout the year. As the course is set on chalk downland it is never waterlogged and we do not have temporary greens in the winter - perfect for all year play with no trolley or buggy bans (unless exceptional conditions prevail)!
To top it all, the views from every hole are unsurpassable. From the 8th green, the highest point on the course, there is a 360° view to the North Downs and south to the sea. Why not look at the gallery of photos of the course.
Lewes Golf Club is proud of its tradition of being a friendly club. Whether you are interested in membership, society golf or playing as a green fee player, you can be assured of a warm welcome.
